Licensed
Bonded Insured
Cook's is licensed
by the Ohio Department of
Agriculture. Not only do
individual pest control
applicators require licensing to
perform termite inspections but
the company itself must also hold
a separate business license for
each location it operates from.
Even if the
individual doing the inspection
is licensed to do inspections and
has no employees he/she must
still obtain a separate business
license in addition to his
applicator license. Proof of
liability insurance is required
to obtain a Pesticide business
license in Ohio. Without a
business license and
a commercial applicator license
with the appropriate category
designations an inspector
(including a home inspector) can
not legally perform termite
inspections for real estate
transactions in Ohio.
Buyers and real
estate agents who order termite
inspections for their clients
should perform a license search
at the Ohio Department of
Agricultures website or call the
ODA pesticide regulation division
to ensure the company or
individual hired to perform the
termite inspection is properly
licensed and insured.
Experienced
As with many other
professions pest control
companies experience a high
turn-over of employees. Finding
an excellent top notch termite
inspector is tough...keeping them
is even tougher. Termite
inspections are the most
litigated services that pest
control insurance companies pay
claims on and provide legal
counsel to defend.
Cook's is
fortunate to have 2 of the best
termite inspectors in Columbus.
Robert
Downard:
Robert has been with Cook's for
almost the entire 25 years Cook's
has been in operation. Robert is
well known and respected by many
real estate professionals. Robert
is a quiet, friendly, polite
individual who has lived his
entire life in Columbus, Ohio.
Robert strives very hard to
ensure his inspection and
reporting are as accurate and
complete as possible. Robert
continues to improve his
knowledge of the pest control
profession by regularly attending
continuing education classes.
Robert currently holds licensing
issued by the state of Ohio's
Department of Agriculture in
Structural pest Control, Termite
Control, Pesticide application
laws and Wood destroying insect
Inspection. He has a daughter and
is currently building a new home
in Marysville with his wife.
Agents with buyers
purchasing homes west of I-71
will more than likely meet with
Robert for their inspections.
Robert
Boggs:
Rob has been with Cook's since
April 1989. Rob was a termite
treatment technician with Cook's
for many years before becoming a
full time termite inspector.
Rob's knowledge of termite
infestation, termite biology and
treatment procedures make him an
excellent inspector. Rob is also
a friendly and polite individual
who is also well known and
respected among the real estate
profession. He too regularly
attends continuing education
class and holds state licensing
in the categories of Structural
pest control to include general
pest control, Termite control,
Core studies in pesticide
application laws of Ohio and Wood
destroying insect inspection. Rob
has 2 children and a
step-daughter and resides in
Clintonville with his wife and
family.
Agents with buyers
purchasing homes east of I-71
will more than likely meet with
Rob for their inspections.
Both Robert and
Rob are very happy to meet with
buyers at the properties they
inspect. Both are very
forthcoming when explaining the
entire process of the inspection,
explaining evidence and answering
home buyers questions to the best
of their ability.
Neither Robert nor
Rob are salesmen. If infestation
is found they will work up a cost
for Cook's to treat and provide
that along with their inspection
but neither will try to
"sell" a treatment. No
long winded spiels, no scare
tactics. Just the facts and an
estimate.
Our inspectors are
available to the customer to
discuss any concerns the customer
may have and we highly
encourage all homebuyers to be
present during the inspection.
When Cook's inspects your home
prior to your closing you can
rest assured the inspection was
done thoroughly, professionally,
and honestly. Our written reports
contain disclosure of conditions
as they are present at the time
of inspection. We are more than
willing and able to answer any
and all questions you may have
and help make the home buying
process a bit less confusing.
